Recently, we introduced Mia
to you. Nearly a month later, we received these photos
and an e-mail about Mia and her latest tricks! Talk about
falling into the honeypot...this dog has it made! This
letter is from her new guardian family and is written by
Sharon, her new mom.
“Mia is such a HUGE
love bug. She is an amazing animal. She's been with us over
a month and she's a best friend to anyone she comes in
contact with. Sometimes we think she wants to "mother"
us like a small puppy and other times she wants me to be her
mother! She has total run of the house and goes on
several walks a day, is 99% housebroken, and has taken apart
practically every stuffed toy that the kids leave laying
around. That makes for neater children! She
actually prances while she walks by my side in the house and
sometimes thinks she can herd me along.
There is nothing we
could buy her to play with that could replace her love of
branches & sticks. She's ferocious in "guarding" me
against the attack of the vacuum cleaner, the hairdryer and
now she's discovered the "vicious doll stroller". I
wish I could send you a video of her defending us against
these "monsters". You would be laughing for quite a
while because she is sooooooo sweet and loving, it's hard to
believe she would act like this and it's comical to watch
her!
I can not thank you
enough for seeing that special something in her. We
have never adopted a dog that we haven't met but even the
veterinarian and her staff in North Carolina loved Mia.
She is definitely a family "dog" and that's great since
there are six of us. Our cat is slowly getting used to
the fact that Mia is here to stay and if they ever start
sleeping together, I'll be sure to send you a picture.
Everyone in North
Carolina made it so easy for us, moving her to the vet for
spaying and shots, and especially transporting her up here
to Pennsylvania. But the most important thing is that all of
you believed in her and I honestly can say that we could not
have chosen a more ideal dog for our family.
I will keep sending
you picture updates so that you can remember during those
discouraging times in your mission that ALL OF YOU are
directly responsible for Mia's current situation and you
are making a difference. We are so happy with her,
and she is equally as happy with us. We feel blessed
to have her as part of our family. It is easy to love
Mia, especially since she's always smiling at us!”
